Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service Checks (DBS)
Every candidate registered with Affinity Education are required to have an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check every 12 months.
The Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) has launched a service, called the Update Service https://www.gov.uk/dbs-update-service
The Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) update service lets applicants keep their DBS certificates up to date online and allows employers to check a certificate online.
Registration lasts for one year and the annual cost is met by the candidate. This provides the candidate with an online account allowing the candidate to take their certificate from one job to the next, giving employer’s permission to check their certificate online, and see who has checked it.
If a candidate does not possess a Criminal Record check dated within a one year period of their registration date and or portability cannot be provided they are requested to complete a new DBS check Application Form during registration.
If a candidates DBS is processed by Affinity Education, as long as they are in continuous work with Affinity Education, their DBS will be required to be renewed annually or to update it annually via the update service.
Affinity Education request that all candidates have their DBS certificate on their person when working in school as it may be required for inspection.
The cost of DBS applications are met by candidates.
Affinity Education reserve the right to refuse to work with any candidates who do not have a satisfactory DBS check.
