Curriculum Vitae

It is essential that you have prepared an up to date CV which clearly states your qualifications and relevant professional experience from your most recent position. Ensure that you provide a concise and comprehensive overview of the duties and skills you have developed in each of your positions. It is also a good idea to present a personal statement/letter of application.

Your CV not only provides us a full understanding of your experience, your CV assists us to effectively market you to support you in securing work.  it is essential that we have regular up to date CV’s on file in order for us to be able to forward CV’s to schools for consideration when recruiting for long term posts.

Your CV is often the first impression that a school will have of you therefore it is vital that your CV is of a high standard.

DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) Certificate-Enhanced Disclosure

If you already have a DBS certificate which is dated within one years of your registration date with Affinity Education and you have registered with the DBS Update Service, Affinity Education will be able to also check your certificate on-line at the point of registeration and annually.

The Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) introduced the Update Service for applicants keep their DBS certificates up to date online and to allow employers to check a certificate online.

You can register on line when you apply for a DBS certificate, or within 19 days of getting one (you’ll need the certificate reference number).

Registration lasts for 1 year and costs £13 per year. When you join, you’ll get an online account that lets you: take your certificate from one job to the next, give employers permission to check your certificate online, and see who has checked it. For full details, https://www.gov.uk/dbs-update-service.

If you have a DBS processed by Affinity Education, as long as you are in continuous work with us, your CRB will be required to be renewed annually unless of course you have registered it with the Update Service, which we will encourage you to do.

The cost of DBS applications are met by candidates.
